Singjay Jahvillani vents frustration with Jamaica's justice after X6 trial
Many Jamaicans were angered at the not guilty verdict in the so-called X6 murder case, the 2011 incident that resulted in the death of teenager Kajheel Mais.
Singjay Jahvillani vents his frustration with Jamaica's justice system in Make It Out, a song produced by YGF Records.
It addresses, in part, Mais' controversial death and acquittal of the shooter, businessman 51-year-old Powell.
"It is a known fact that the higher society doesn't care for the ghetto and then this X6 case came up where the system showed no leniency or gave no justice to Kajheel or his family...And the big man win again," said Jahvillani.
The St. Ann-born artiste recorded Make It Out shortly after the verdict in Jamaca's Supreme Court. It was released last week while there was still a buzz around the case.
According to Jahvillani, he had to make a statement.
"When ghetto people see them things them only lose hope, so Mi sing this song fi mek the ghetto youth them know sey no matter how di system try to hinder us from our rights, wi a go mek it out," he said.
